CONSTITUTIONAL ISSUES Amendment VII "In Suits at common law, where the value in controversy.shall exceed twenty ~ dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law." Amendment XIV-“...No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.” Pursuant to the constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, citizens have a sacred right to a jury trial concerning property.
