My criminal case is in New York State and my litigation i is under federal habeas corpus in the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Second Circuit. As you may ieatly be aware the New York State Department of Corrections in February 2025 under went a State emergency due to an illegal strike on the part of correctional officers. The Governor consequently ordered the National Guards to man the prisons throughout New York State. Eastern Correctional Facility was undera twenty one day shut down. The normal available access to the law library material research and preparation was interfered. The facility is still under staffed and substituted by the national guards to date. I recently understand access to the law library has resume to normal call out scheduling.
