Matthew Thomas Parkins, By and Through His Guardian ad Litem and Next Friend, Andrew Turner, et al. v. Henry Dargan McMaster, et al.

No question identified. : and Petitioners’ time to petition for certiorari in this Court expires on May15, 2025. This application is being filed more than 10 days before that date. Copies of the opinions below are attached hereto. The jurisdiction of the Court is invoked under 28 U.S.C. §1254(1). This case involves violations of the due process rights of an intellectually disabled adult and his father. Matthew Parkins was removed from his home without notice or legal representation, in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Petitioners alleged financial improprieties of governmental agencies and officials. This case presents important questions under the United States Constitution, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Medicaid Act which were determined adversely to the Petitioners in the court below. Grounds for this Application are that counsel was ordered to evacuate from her home and office during the recent wildfires in South Carolina for approximately one week. As a result of the close proximity of the fires, a large amount of time was spent removing the contents of counsel’s office and the process of restoring the same is ongoing. Wherefore Petitioner respectfully requests that an order be entered extending the time to petition for certiorari to and including June 16, 2025. Respectfully submitted, s/Patricia Logan Harrison Patricia Logan Harrison Attorney at Law 47 Rosemond Road Cleveland, South Carolina 29635 (803) 360 5 Counsel for the Petitioners Cleveland, South Carolina April 29, 2025
