Question Presented (AI Summary)

Whether the Supreme Court should grant an extension of time to file a petition for a writ of certiorari in a federal criminal case

Question Presented (OCR Extract)

No question identified. : On May 7, 2025, the Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit issued its opinion affirming Mr. Dixon’s conviction in his federal case. (Exhibit C Court of Appeals Opinion.) Mr. Dixon filed a timely petition for rehearing, and on June 26, 2025, the court denied that petition. (Exhibit D — Order Denying Petition for Rehearing.) Therefore, absent an extension of time, Mr. Dixon’s Petition would be due on September 24, 2025. Petitioner is filing this Application at least ten days before that date. See S. Ct. R. 13.5. This Court would have jurisdiction over the judgment of the District Court for the Central District of Illinois and Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit under 18 U.S.C. § 1254(1). For the foregoing reasons, and pursuant to the attached affidavit of counsel, Mr. Dixon respectfully requests that the Court extend the time to file a Petition for a Writ of Certiorari in this matter sixty days to and including November 24, 2025.
