Question Presented (OCR Extract)

No question identified. : IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES KRISTON PRICE, No. Petitioner, v. STATE OF OHIO, Respondent. On Petition for Writ of Certiorari to the Supreme Court of Ohio Case No. 2025-1004 MOTION FOR EXTENTION OF TIME TO FILE PETITION FOR WRIT OF CERTIORARI To the Honorable John G. Roberts, Jr., Chief Justice of the United States and Circuit Justice for the Sixth Circuit: Pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 13.5, the Petitioner, Kriston Price, respectfully moves for a 60-day extension of time, to and including March 13, 2026, within which to file a pro se petition for a writ of certiorari. 1. The judgement for which review is sought was entered on October 14, 2025, when the Supreme Court of Ohio declined jurisdiction to hear Petitioner’s appeal from the Eighth District Court of Appeals, State v. Price, Case No. 113540, 2025-Ohio-2218, and thus, invoking this courts jurisdiction. A copy of that order is attached. 1| Page . The petition for writ of certiorari is currently due on or before January 12, 2026. . Petitioner is incarcerated and proceeding pro se. He is diligently working to prepare the petition but requires additional time to complete necessary legal research, compose the petition, and ensure compliance with the Supreme Court Rules. . This is Petitioners first request for an extension of time. . The extension is not requested for any dilatory purposes, and is being made in good faith to allow sufficient time for meaningful and complete presentation of legal issues. . The issues to be raised in the petition are of paramount importance and precedential value. Petitioner Price will present constitutional questions concerning the Fifth, Sixth, and Fourteenth Amendments. The underlying facts involve a violent home invasion where the intruder, prior roommate, used his old key to enter the home, kicked in the bedroom door, severely beat the Petitioner—knocking out his teeth, fracturing his ribs, and throwing him through a bedroom mirror. Petitioner, in self-defense, fired serval shots. The jury rejected aggravated murder, and returned a conviction on voluntary manslaughter—an inferior degree offense with identical elements, distinguished only by the presence of provocation. 2|Page WHEREFORE, Petitioner respectfully prays that this Court grants an extension of 60-days, to and including March 13, 2026, within which to file his Petition for Writ of Certiorari.
