Vincent Terry v. Teresa Bailey, et al.
Whether the Supreme Court will grant a 30-day extension of time to file a petition for writ of certiorari under Rule 13.1 when the petitioner demonstrates complexity of legal issues and professional obligations
No question identified. : The judgment of the Supreme Court of Georgia was entered on July 1, 2025 ( Exhibit A). Unless extended, the petition for a writ of certiorari is due on September 29, 2025, pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 13.1. Petitioner seeks a 30-day extension of time, up to and including October 29, 2025, within which to prepare and file his petition for writ of certiorari and request the ability to e-file said petition to meet the Court's timelines. The additional time is necessary due to the complexity of the issues to be raised, the need for further research and review of the state court record, and the press of other professional and personal obligations. This request is made in good faith and not for purposes of delay. This is Petitioner’s first request for an extension of time of 30 days. For the foregoing reasons, Petitioner respectfully requests that this Court grant a 30-day extension of time, up to and including October 29, 2025, within which to file a petition for a writ of certiorari.
